Teppay makes our list for the authenticity. In the majority of cases, most restaurants aren't managed by the Japanese and that's more than acceptable.  Our club is appreciative to anyone who promotes sushi and Japan in Houston.  Teppay, however, promotes the authentic approach to sushi as much as possible.  The waitstaff speaks Japanese.  The sushi chefs are Japanese. Teppay gives you the impression that they care more about giving your a traditional Japanese experience with your meal.  In fact, you'll be surprised at the number of Japanese businessmen and families you'll see dining inside.  If you mind many Japanese citizens there...Teppay is clearly worth a visit.

Order the sushi with a Japanese edition - Soba, Donburi, etc.  Teppay provides a great menu that ensures your sushi will coincide with a traditional flavor of Japan. This is a great place to drink a few bottles of sake with good friends.  IF you've ever visited Tokyo, you'll feel at home here. Always ask your waitress for the specials at Teppay.  They believe in quality and will give you recommendations based on 'what's in...and what's great.'
	You won't find Teppay from the road.  Instead, as you drive (heading West) on Westheimer Road you will spot Teppay deep within the shopping center (near a Sketcher's Shoe outlet). Keep in mind that Teppay is managed daily by a small group of hard-working and experienced team.  If you bring a large party into the restaurant and they are not informed in advane, your service may be slow (and it will be your fault).  The restaurant needs to have advanced notice of a larger party to ensure that they can accommodate big groups.  The entire restaurant (not including the private room) can only fit about 60 people.   Teppay is a great place to sit at the sushi bar.  It's a long bar that acts as the divider between the staff and customers.  Most Sushi Club of Houston members admit to enjoying the sushi bar when they visit and having great chats with the chefs.
