FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION ANSWER
"How does the 'Sushi Club' work?" It's easy - All members are informed of our events via email.  Members can sign up for an event online and reserve a seat.  After the event, the attendees rate the event/club through our website.  The restaurant receives a 'report card' 10 days later.
"Are Membership Dues Required?" No.  We do not require dues.  You merely pay for your meal at the time of the event.
"How often does does the club host an event?" Due to the size of our club, we must host a minimum of 3 or 4 events per month.  Even then....we continually sell out of seats.
"How do the members pay for their meal?" All meals are paid in cash and the money is given to the restaurant after the event.
"Why pay in cash?" Restaurants are charged a fee for the use of credit cards.  Also, multiple payment methods require separate checks.  Starting in April 2008, member can pay for their meals online before the event.
"Are all of the meals on one dinner bill?" Yes.  The entire event is listed on one main dinner bill.
"Is alcohol included?" No.  If members order alcohol, they use a separate check.
"Is there a minimum age for the attendees?" No, but members under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
"What happens if I have to cancel my seat?" You must inform the club immediately.  We typically have a number of members who are on waiting lists to attend.
"Are members ever removed from the club?" Yes.  If you reserve a seat and do not attend an event without notifying our club first, you will be removed from the club.  Dozens of members enjoy our events.  To host any of our events with an 'empty' chair is unacceptable.
"Why would I be removed simply because I don't attend the event?" To offer our members a discounted meal, we typically negotiate the menu (and its cost) in advance.  Many times, the sushi club pays for your meal (after you request a seat) to ensure that all meals will be fully prepared right before the event.  If we are not aware that you have decided to not attend, the sushi club will be responsible for the cost of your meal and you will not attend (nor pay for it).  With so many members interested in attending our events, such a lack of consideration to the other members must be discouraged.
"I don't use a computer or email.  How can I remain informed of your events and sign up for the sushi functions?" Unfortunately, our club focuses all efforts through the Internet.  It allows us to keep track of our events and members with the use of technology.  We recommend that you consider using a local library access and obtain an email account.
